Libraries are important for education. Most public libraries offer free classes on everything from computer skills to cooking. They also have extensive collections of books, movies, and music that you can borrow for free.

Libraries are a safe place for kids. According to the American Library Association, public libraries are one of the few places where kids can go without an adult. In addition, they offer activities and programs specifically designed for children, and most libraries have a zero-tolerance policy for bullying and harassment.

Libraries help preserve our history. Libraries are home to some of the world’s oldest manuscripts and documents. They also have extensive collections of photographs, maps, and other historical artifacts that would be otherwise unavailable to the public.
