2. There are also grants to lower and middle-income senior citizens for personal housing support. Funding is to defray costs of generating indoor heat during the coldest months of the year. Applicants may be homeowners or renters. The grant amount will be based on income level, marital status and residential address. Heating can be oil, electric, wood or propane.
3. In addition, there are grants to eligible nonprofits and municipalities for housing-related projects/programs. Funding is for a wide range of activities, including the development, construction, and rehabilitation of affordable housing. Funding is also for assistance with down payments and scattered-site acquisition of affordable housing.
4. There are grants to nonprofits, for-profit housing developers, and government agencies for housing projects and increased shelter capacity that benefit homeless individuals and mixed-income households in the wake of the Coronavirus (COVID-!9) health crisis. Applicants must submit a risk assessment prior to applying. Funding is to develop affordable housing in response to the negative economic effects of the pandemic by providing assistance to impacted households and communities.
5. Finally, grants to community service heroes in multiple states for help with purchasing a home. Funding is intended for police officers, social workers, teachers, medical professionals, and firefighters.

Additional Grants for Housing

1. Grants of up to $5,000 to nonprofits to promote housing and education initiatives. Funding supports organizations that emphasize affordable housing through education, development or repair.
2. In addition, there are grants to nonprofits and government agencies for strategies to address housing solutions for individuals with HIV/AIDS and their families.
3. Contracts for services to nonprofits to develop permanent supportive rental housing for low-income people with disabilities. As a result, funding is to offer individuals with disabilities (ages 18 and over) the opportunity to live independently and with dignity within the community in an integrated environment. Funding also supports providing access to appropriate and voluntary supportive services. Program goal is to provide project rental subsidies to maintain ongoing affordability over the next 40 years.
4. There are also grants to eligible government agencies and municipalities for housing projects, economic development, and public facilities and services. Funding is for activities and projects to directly benefit low and moderate-income individuals.
5. Also, Grants to municipalities and for-profit and nonprofit developers for rental and homeownership projects that benefit low-income residents. 
6. Lastly, grants to eligible nonprofits for housing/healthcare-related projects to enhance the lives of residents. Funding supports projects in the areas of housing, healthcare and education.
