Find Funding to Enable Your Community to Flourish

A community is only as good as the quality of the lives of its members. This may be somewhat cliche, but the truth is a ‘quality community’ will do whatever is possible to improve life for its residents. There’s no better way to do this than by providing funding to address these community-wide issues. Whether it’s expanding affordable housing, increasing job opportunities, or providing better healthcare, communities should take advantage of the grant funding available. You can have a positive impact on your community by finding the funding to enable your community to flourish.

Not only does GrantWatch offer an entire category dedicated to Community and Economic Development grants, but it also has a grant category specifically for Community Services. We’ve listed some of the top grants from these two categories below. We hope at least one of these grants will help enable your community to identify grants to help fund its continued growth and development.  Using GrantWatch, you can also find a list of foundations that have supported community programs in the past.

Grants to Benefit Communities

  1. Grants are available to nonprofits for projects, programs, and activities that benefit the community. Eligible organizations align with one of the following areas of interest: religious, educational, and social.
  2. There are also grants available to eligible organizations to promote economic growth and opportunities for low-income seniors. Funding is for exploring systems-level change, assessing existing interventions, and learning how best to serve older adults in their community.
  3. In addition, grants are open to U.S. tribal governments and organizations for economic development programs in Native communities. Funding is to create economic opportunities and address housing, particularly for the benefit of low- and moderate-income individuals.
  4. There are grants to organizations and individuals to aid underprivileged communities with a wide range of economic development and social empowerment projects. Funding supports projects that address the unmet needs of poor and marginalized populations, as well as promoting self-help and empowerment within local communities.
  5. Grants of up to $1,000 to U.S. students ages 18 and under for service projects to benefit their local community.
  6. There are grants and event sponsorships to nonprofits to provide solutions to community social issues. The focus should include STEM education, community development, inclusion, climate equity, and road and vehicle safety.

Additional Grants Available

  1. Grants are available to city, county, township, and special district governments to renovate Main Street areas or business districts that are traditional or historic.
  2. Funding is available to eligible organizations to address the needs of low-income elderly populations.
