Our global sports community is preparing for an exciting and challenging event. As athletes and organizers gear up for the Games, the focus is on ensuring a successful and memorable Olympic experience. It’s incredibly thrilling to see the Olympics set against the backdrop of beautiful Paris. This city is renowned for its culture of charm and elegance. What do Olympic athletes have that other young, aspiring athletes from underserved communities? Opportunity! The journey to the Olympics often starts with community support and accessible sports programs. Here are some grants available to help aspiring athletes and sports programs thrive:
Grant Opportunities for Aspiring Olympic Athletes
- Youth Sports Scholarships: In-kind grants to families to enable children and youth to participate in a wide range of recreational sports. Income-eligible families will receive a digital card to be used to offset the cost of registration.
- Training for International Competitions – Grants to competitive athletes to offset the cost of training for international competitions. Funding assists athletes, in high-performance sports, balance their training with scholastic/employment obligations.
- Equestrian Sports Funding: Funding for individuals to participate in horse riding events. Funding supports the education and development of competitive riders. The program educates, inspires, improves skills, and expands the knowledge of developing riders at the international level.
- Support Youth Sports – Up to $2,000 to young athletes and nonprofit organizations to promote youth sports. Funding enables youth to achieve their sports aspirations and promotes lifelong sports participation and healthy lifestyles.
- Athletic Activities – Grants to nonprofit organizations, schools, municipalities, and youth teams and leagues to support the activities of young athletes.
- Protect Youth Athletes – Nonprofit organization may win a grant to design and execute a program to protect youth amateur athletes from all forms of abuse.
- Investigate Performance-Enhancing Drug Use – Investigators may apply for for grant funding for research projects related to the reduction of performance-enhancing drug use.
- Programs at an Athletic Training Center – Grant support for athletes participating in programs at specific athletic training centers. This funding, whether need-based or merit-based, helps athletes reach their potential and foster their long-term enjoyment of mountain sports.
