The number of farms in the United States has declined significantly since its peak in 1935. In 1935, the United States had $6.8 million in farms. The reasons for the decline include factors like technological success in agriculture and non-farm-related employment opportunities. There are 2.02 million farms in the US in 2021.

Here are a couple more interesting statistics:

Corn and soybeans accounted for 40% of all crop cash receipts in 2019. The total dollar amount of crop cash receipts in 2019 totaled $193.3 billion!

U.S net farm income will decline in 2021. Inflation-adjusted net farm income is set to decline 9.7% overall.

1. So our first grant listed we have grants listed for USA nonprofits, agencies, and businesses. Funds will go to promote local agriculture and address the impacts of COVID-19. These grants will go towards projects that improve access to local food products.
2. The second grant is specific to the state of Tennessee. These are grants for Tennessee nonprofits, agencies, IHE’s, and tribal entities for conservation outreach and education for underserved farmers. These grants of up to $25,000 go to projects that help underserved communities, farmers, and ranchers.
3. Thirdly we have listed grants to Minnesota organizations. These grants are for rural youth leadership, agriculture safety, and rural vitality projects. These grants of up to $10,000 will go to Minnesota organizations for programs and projects for these initiatives.
4. We also have grants for Pre-K-12 agriculture education in Maine. These grants will go towards programs that enhance agricultural education in Pre-K-12 education. Students will be able to learn about the state and national food and fiber system.
5. Our last grant is for farms in the state of Vermont. These grants will go for Vermont farms to improve soil and water quality. These grants are up to $8,000 to support the implementation of practices that improve soil quality, augment crop production, and reduce waste discharge and erosion.
